The UMBC Chapter of Black and Latino Alumni (CBLA) invites you to attend the 50th Anniversary Legends of Excellence Award Brunch. This event is organized once every five years to acknowledge the extraordinary contributions of faculty and staff who've made an impact in the lives of UMBC's African American and Latino students during their tenure at the university. 

2017 Awardees: 
Earnestine Baker, Former Executive Director of the Meyerhoff Scholars Program 
Dr. Willie Lamouse-Smith, Professor Emeritus, Africana Studies 
Simmona Simmons '74, Service and Special Projects Librarian 
Dr. Jamie Washington, Former Director of Student Life
